Big thanks to our very understanding farm visitors

We'd like to pass on our thanks to those who were booked to visit our farm over the recent school vacation and had their tours cancelled due to our son's 'hospital holiday'.  We really appreciate your understanding and hope that we will get the chance to show you around our farm one day in the near future.
Harry is now doing well and the skin graft is looking quite good so as long as he continues to be very diligent in looking after it, all should be good.  Thanks for your good wishes, we very much appreciate your support.

June 11th, 12th, 13th - Farm activities for families this long weekend

Bookings are now being taken for visits to our dairy farm for the coming long weekend.  Treat your family to a day out in the country and experience the life of a farming family.

Come, join our family and help out with the farm chores.  Feed 'Butterscotch' and her friends in the calf paddock, meet Phoenix and Ginger the hens and their brood of chicks, help out with our farm yard menagerie.  Enjoy afternoon tea on the verandah of our farmhouse before heading to the dairy to help milk the herd.  No watching from afar when you visit our farm; get your hands dirty at the dairy and see where milk really comes from.

Spaces are limited to guarantee hands-on participation.  Bookings essential.

Prices start from just $50 per family for a unique experience on our working dairy farm.

Wild weather on the farm

Wild weather has hit the farm over the past 2 days.  Spectacular storm clouds built up yesterday afternoon prior to the beautiful rain we received last night.  Without warning we received not 1 but 3 separate hail storms this afternoon.  The temperature dropped dramatically and the animals dived for cover as the hail pelted the ground and crops. 

The weather is now supposed to return to beautiful Winter days, perfect for a visit to our farm and the Scenic Rim region.  Farm camping spaces are still available to take advantage of the coming Winter days.  Our calendar for school holiday activities for families will be released shortly.  Email tommerups@bigpond.com to obtain your copy.

FarmDay 2011 - Thanks to the Johnston family

Farm Day 2011 and the weather on our farm was spectacular!
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know our 'city family'; Michelle Johnston and her boys, Alex & Hamish.

The guinea pigs were once again a huge hit with our visitors but the Johnston family happily joined in with all the farm chores for the day.  Riding bikes around the farm with Harry & Georgia was great fun for Alex & Hamish and a picnic lunch down the river was great for exploring and collecting rocks.  We hope they enjoyed their day on our farm.

MooGoo Skincare films on our farm

The crew from MooGoo Skincare took advantage of the beautiful Autumn weather and stunning blue skies on our farm this week to film their training video and product promos.  The milkers behaved themselves very well and added to the spectacular backdrop.  They are stars once again!

Farm Camping - space available June long weekend

Farm camp sites are still available for the June long weekend 10th - 13th June 2011. 

Wake up to the sound of kookaburras, cattle and roosters!  Bring your tent, campervan or camper trailer and enjoy a weekend of fun on the farm.  

Don your winter woolies and join us at the dairy for the morning milking (OR NOT!); help feed and care for our farm animals, take in the sights and sounds of a genuine working dairy farm; join us at far more civilised temperatures for the afternoon milking; or just simply enjoy the peace and quiet of our 200 acre farm.

Autumn is a fantastic time on the farm; cooler temperatures perfect for a camp fire and brilliant clear blue skies during the day perfect for exploring the farm and local area.

Au revoir Bene & Eric - we'll see you in France!!

Our fabulous French WWOOFers left yesterday for the next part of their Australian journey.  After spending 10 weeks on the farm with us we will certainly miss their company and friendship.  It has been a steep learning curve for us all but we thoroughly enjoyed it.  To Bene & Eric - we'll see you in France.  Thanks for the memories!!
